Evert Eyckerman

Once upon a time… there was a boy who didn’t pay attention in class because there were more interesting things to look at. Since elementary school, I was the dreamer of the class, the squirrels were more interesting than the lesson. So don’t ask me how I managed to complete my secondary education in Technical Sciences and then college in System Engineering (ICT). I was more occupied with other things than with school, to the frustration of my parents and even teachers.

Yet, every time I learned something new, and still when I learn, a new world of possibilities, opportunities, and ideas opens up. Thanks to the power of language, imagination, and creativity, I have found my way in this ever-changing and challenging world. One of my first discoveries was that there is no shortage of opportunities, only an abundance of limitations.

Many years later, I was asked: “Evert, what is your actual goal in life?” The answer to this is very simple. I prefer to spend my time inspiring people when it comes to unique and innovative concepts and ideas.

Just a small side note, something you better not know about me, or maybe you should… in my free time, besides being a father and stepfather, I am also an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons (for more than 30 years). On a dark Friday night, I might enjoy a nice whisky. And finally, you can occasionally find me on stage as an improvisational theater actor, a place where the non-serious me can have some fun.
